The Church of St Mary Magdalene
The Parish of Alfrick-W-Lulsley. William Allies, was born in Lulsley and married in Alfrick. This family's principal residence, the Upper House, which stands a little to the west of the church, was at one time occupied by the Rev. S.H. Dodgson when he was a curate in charge of the church. His brother, Lewis Carroll, author of "Alice in Wonderland", visited here and on one occasion preached in Alfrick Church.
Some deep erosion marks below the church windows, where people have scratched away samples of the 'Holy' rock.
